“...geoinformatics is the study of how to collect, store, process, analyze and present data, data in Earth’s space-time, using information technology... ... Collecting generic information is relevant to all Earth sciences, including geodesy, and mining and environmental sciences, as well as sciences dealing with non-geological surface objects.”

prof. Janusz KOTLARCZYK
Honorary Chairman of the Commission on Geoinformatics of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences

In “Geoinformatica Polonica” both original and review articles from the area of broadly understood geoinformatics can be published. This scientific discipline, operating with geo-spatial data has common areas with classic Earth sciences such as geophysics, geodesy, cartography, mining, environmental engineering, techniques of the management of Earth surface.
